Latin Rock On The Dock - Puro Bandido

Biography

Puro Bandido logo

Puro Bandido was formed by José "El Bandido" Mayorga in 1979, whose vision and dream was to form a band to fit his unique persona and capture the true San Francisco Mission District Experience! He carefully scoped out the music scene and handpicked the best of the best, recruiting members Richard Segovia & Rolando "Choco" Contreras to form the band, “Bandido”. These 2 brought his vision and sound to life with Culture, Style & SAVOR

Puro Bandido is more than a refreshing musical group - It is a high energy blend of musical styles the band calls "Border Rock" because they “cross all borders & have no boundaries”. They combine Old School Chulo and new Latin Rock, with driving rhythms, a soulful rhythm section, melodic vocals and a tight horn section...

Puro Bandido has shared the bill with artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Tower of Power, Cold Blood, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente and Santana, to name a few. They were featured at the Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten in the Caribbean and have performed numerous festivals, clubs, and concerts throughout the States.

Puro Bandido's CD, “We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Badges'' is available at most digital download sources.

Puro Bandido carries the torch and paves the way for younger Mission District Artists following in their footsteps. They share their love of music with many younger artists they produce and work within their studios, Casa Bandido in San Francisco, and Grooveland Studios in Groveland, Califas.

José "El Bandido” Mayorga may you rest in peace knowing that YOUR DREAM LIVES ON!!! ¡VIVA LA MUSICA!
