The Band August
The band AUGUST was founded in 1974 by lead guitarist, Mike Rodriguez, from the musically talented Carlos Rodríguez family from Tulare, CA.
Sadly in 2015, Mike lost his courageous battle with cancer. His memory and legacy continue in the music and style of the group today. The Band August is a solid band comprised of a full rhythm, percussion, horns, keyboard and high-powered vocalists. The sound is contagious, flashy, and electrifying.
Mike’s brothers, Danny, conguero and Jesse, the timbalero, remain in the band, ever so dedicated to keeping the band hoppin, poppin and groovin. This year, AUGUST is celebrating their 50th anniversary, quite an accomplishment in the entertainment world with former band members dating back to 1974. AUGUST has opened for great bands such as, MALO, Little Joe y la Familia, Ozomatli, Gap Band, Los Lobos, WAR and other music giants.
AUGUST is a dynamic cover band located in Central California. The band performs a wide variety of music from Latin, Tejano, Old School, R&B, Funk, and Oldies. From Quinceñeras to holiday events and other special occasions, they’re ready to get you movin to a cumbia or shakin to Bruno Mars, Selena, Little Joe y la familia and more!

AUGUST is built on love, dedication, and commitment. A tradition which runs in the family, built throughout the 50 years of rigorous rehearsals, numerous appearances, while producing three CDs in between. AUGUST is not just a group of individual musicians playing together, AUGUST has its own personality, its own goals, and its own original sound and soul. AUGUST really digs what they are doing, and they’ve brought a lot of people something they really dig too, real LIVE music.
